Microsoft Active Directory integration with Strata Sync:

The Toshiba Strata® Synch tool, in conjunction with Network eManager®, now provides the interface between Microsoft® Active Directory Services databases with the Toshiba Strata CIX™ and Strategy® ES voice mail systems.

Active Directory Services (ADS) is a Microsoft® database technology that is used as a central repository to store information about a network resource. The primary goal of Active Directory services is to provide centralized authentication and authorization services for Windows® operating system based computers. There are three main objects stored in Active Directory Services: Resources (i.e. printers), Services (i.e. email) and Users. ADS provides control, management, organization, and security on these objects.

Toshiba’s Network eManager® is a windows-based administration tool used to control, manage and program the Toshiba line of IP PBX systems. The Toshiba Network eManager has its own set of databases that are not compatible with the database schema of Active Directory Services without running the Toshiba Strata® Synch tool.

The Strata Synch utility can assist Network Administrators who manage their company’s Strata CIX system by propagating into the CIX database changes made in the Active Directory Services database, such as when employees leave the company, name changes and phone number changes.
